HVAC Controls Technician I/II/III (Programmer)

Pay Range:

Level I - 0-5 years: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00

Level II - 5+ years: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00

Level III - 10+ years: $80,000 - $122,000.00

Scope of Work: As an HVAC Controls Technician you will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining PLC applications that meet the needs of our diverse clientele. You will collaborate with team leaders, field technicians, HVAC control engineers, and vendors to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to specification.

Responsibilities:

• Coordination with the Team Leader to understand the project vision including scope and timeframe
• Programming DDC controllers
• Write, test, and debug code for various HVAC & building applications
• Troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
• Develop and maintain documentation for code, algorithms, APIs, and other software components.
• Integrate software components and third-party programs.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
• All other duties assigned

Qualifications + Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• BS., Associate Degree, Vocational Technical Certificate, or equivalent relevant industry experience
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering practical solutions that exceed client needs and expectations
• Excellent people skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a demanding environment
• Working knowledge using Microsoft 365 suite + Visio + Bluebeam + AutoCAD + Niagara + Reflow

Work Environment:

Thermosystems LLC offices are in Elmhurst or Romeoville, IL. Field work with exposure to various working conditions, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, and outdoor settings with regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols in commercial buildings within Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana Territories (Office Buildings, Data Centers, k-12 Schools, Medical Office Buildings/Hospitals, Warehouses, etc.).
