Position Summary
This laboratory-based position will explore novel strategies to identify genomic rearrangements and karyotypic alterations. The candidate will work with cell lines, human pathology samples, and mouse xenograft derived samples to purify DNA and RNA, perform basic molecular biology techniques, perform next generation sequencing.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MD or related PhD
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Pediatric residency and experience in the evaluation and conventional molecular testing pathway for childhood sarcomas. Have experience in basic molecular biology techniques.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
To be successful, the candidate must experience with childhood cancer development and in the development of new diagnostics. In addition, the candidate should have familiarity with the application of next generation cancer genotyping and the implications of various chromosomal rearrangements on the diagnosis of childhood cancers.
