The Private Banker will be responsible for developing, managing, and retaining full-service relationships with high income/high net worth private banking clients. Develop new clients by cultivating your personal and professional networks and leveraging relationships with centers of influence. Deliver top service to bank's clients. Work in a business model which strengthens collaborations between internal departments, teams and specialists to maximize cross selling opportunities. Provide integrated financial services advice to these clients including banking, credit, asset management, and trust and estate planning. Works collaboratively and proactively with branches and regional teams to identify and generate referrals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Proactively develops internal and external networks for referral sources that generate prospects and create visibility in the marketplace.
  • Manages the retention and expansion of existing client relationships through a contact strategy and ongoing review the clients banking needs.
  • Build, promote and maintain adequate pipeline of opportunities to meet all Private Banking targets, including, but not limited on and off-balance sheet, advisory, brokerage and life insurance.
  • Actively develop new relationships externally through referrals from clients, centers of influence and internal partners.
  • Manage relationships by leading the client team in planning, delivery, and regular review with clients.
  • Deliver a high degree of personal contact and open communication among clients and internal team that creates a superior client experience.
  • Proactively communicate with clients about current conditions in the financial markets and necessary adjustments to their investment strategies.
  • Ensures compliance with internal control procedures, department policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate ability to be a value added, complimentary member of the team and support team selling initiatives, partnership activities, and cross business line referral objectives.
  • Provide financial advice and counsel to clients and prospective clients regarding trends and conditions of the business environment and general banking trends.
  • Actively participate in community and business functions/groups to promote the image of Valley as an integral member of the community and establish referral contacts within the community.

Required Skills:


  • Strong financial product and technical expertise in developing and delivering holistic investment solutions.
  • Complex problem resolution skills with the ability to draw the correct conclusions.
  • Well versed in various investment and financial planning tools.
  • Proven ability to network with prospective client and centers of influence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of International Banking markets.


Required Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Mminimum 7 years of experience in financial advisory services with demonstrated ability to develop and manage exiting relationships and new business opportunities.
  • Currently holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 or equivalent.


Preferred Experience:


  • Currently holds State Insurance licenses for Life, Health and Variable products.
