Recreation Therapist Langley Porter Psychiatric Hospital and Clinics Part Time 80209BR Job Summary Coordinates management of creative arts and recreation therapy program, including leading staff, volunteers, and interns, program development initiatives, and donor relations. Provides comprehensive creative arts and recreation therapy assessment and treatment interventions for patients, involving families as appropriate for the target population. Plans, develops, and implements individual and group therapy sessions for patients across the life spectrum. For children, adolescent, and young adult patients, also involves families in therapy sessions. Primary responsibilities include: program development and scheduling, conducting assessments and group and individual therapy with patients; maintaining accurate and up-to-date charting, data, and statistics; organizing and ordering supplies/equipment/inventory within allotted budget; supporting community and donor relations; overseeing service coordination with external resources; leading quality improvement initiatives; and leading clinical and administrative supervision of interns and creative arts and recreation therapy volunteers. Required Qualifications * Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree required (as per requirements of the profession). Preferred Qualifications * Experience working with people who have acute/severe mental illness.
