Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Below are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for:




  • Support production by minimizing equipment downtime, providing prompt response times.


  • Complete planned preventative maintenance as well as planned repairs of production equipment.


  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.


  • Perform minor tasks on electrical components such as sensors, fuses, breakers, etc.


  • Follow safety policies and practices while maintaining Wabash's Leadership Principles and Values.


  • The Maintenance Technician I position is expected to work 8 hours/day, including mandatory overtime and weekends.


  • Ability to work on projects both individually and with a cross-functional team.


  • Hours for this position vary based on the shift assigned.


  • Perform other duties as needed or required.

Qualifications:



  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.


  • Basic reading, writing, & verbal skills.


  • Prior experience with the following skills: Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and Electrical (24DC, 120/277/480AC) systems. Methodical problem solving to identify root cause of breakdowns.


  • Ability to work on projects both individually and cross functionally.


  • Must be capable of rapidly responding, adapting to changing and nonstandard situations, while remaining thorough and safety conscious during entire process.


  • Must have good mechanical aptitude, knowledge of tools (power and hand), ability to make detailed measurements using instruments, including but not limited to, tape measures, micrometers, and dial calipers.


  • Experience using SAP and SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) is a plus


  • The desired candidate will have 1-3 years' experience in any related field.


  • Excellent Communication skills are required.


  • Knowledge of ladder logic preferred.


  • Knowledge of 480-volt AC/DC motor controls preferred.



Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:

Maintenance Technician experience and education are great to come into this position with. However, it's not required, here at Wabash, we give you the access to schooling and training to become comfortable in any Maintenance Technician position.

Physical Demands:

As a Maintenance Technician, you are regularly required to stand, walk, lean, push, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle and operate tools or controls for the length of their entire shift. The employee needs full range of motion in their arms and hands in this position. All Maintenance Technician's must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well. Some Maintenance Technicians also work in small spaces throughout their shift and frequently lift and/or carry objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, along with good hand-eye coordination.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Prior experience with the following skills: Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and Electrical (24DC, 120/277/480AC) systems. Methodical problem solving to identify root cause of breakdowns.

  • Must be capable of rapidly responding, adapting to changing and nonstandard situations, and remain thorough and safety conscious during entire process
  • Must understand SAP data entry for managing line calls, PMs, and projects.
  • The desired candidate will have 1-3 years' experience in any related field
  • Excellent Communication skills are required.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires minimum of eight hours standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling with a full range of body mechanics/movements.

Regularly required to lift and carry up to 35 (thirty-five) pounds. Frequently required to lift and carry up to fifty-five (55) pounds. Occasionally required to lift and carry up to seventy-five (75) pounds.

Must be able to work in an environment requiring use of ladder, stairs, heights, platforms and climbing in and out of trailers or working under trailers in tight spaces.

Must have ability to operate a variety of power and hand tools safely, work with compressed air safely, operate fork trucks safely and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE)
