The West Virginia University Reed School of Media and Communications seeks a highly experienced journalist and educator in Journalism and Media to teach three courses each fall and spring semester to fill a Visiting Shott Chair (Open Rank) or Visiting Shott Professor (Open Rank) of Media/Journalism, beginning in January 2025 or August 2025, with rank dependent upon experience.

Established by the Hugh I. Shott Jr. Foundation in 1989, the Shott Chair of Journalism was created to attract a highly experienced journalist and educator to the journalism school at West Virginia University (WVU).

Qualifications

The position title and rank will be dependent upon the applicant's qualifications including national prominence, journalism experience, higher education teaching experience, and education. At a minimum, applicants are required to have 7 years of professional journalism experience and a bachelor's degree in journalism, mass communication, education or related field.
