Dental Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:
Perform basic chair side assisting duties, instrument and equipment maintenance, radiographic proficiency and dental supply inventory.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patient Focus
* Chair side Assisting Duties
* Greets and seats patients
* Prepares room for treatment
* Assists Dentists
* Cleans room after treatment to prepare for next patient

Dental and Mental Health
* Take any appropriate radiograph as requested.
* Keeps instruments cleaned and maintained
* Keep dental supplies correct and on hand
* Maintain stock of dental supplies

Checking, Examining, & Recording
* Keeps maintenance log
* Maintain up to date record of supply ordering

* Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
* High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
* Graduation for a Dental Assistant Program required
* Maryland Dental Radiation Technology Certificate required
* Expanded Functional Certificate preferred
* Certification in Basic Dental Assisting required
* Two years minimum experience required
