The Senior Relationship Manager will act as the strategic partner to our clients, providing prescriptive solutions that meet business goals of retention, growth, and retirement readiness. The Mid Market Senior Relationship Manager is responsible for strengthening Empower's relationships with advisors, plan sponsors, and third-party administrators in the corporate market segment. This role specializes in managing relationships with plan sponsors having plan assets greater than $35 million.

What you will do

  • Own the retention and profitability of a book of business; plans tend to be larger than $35 million and are more complex in nature
  • Build and grow highly complex relationships with key decision makers, as well as collaborate with plan sponsors and advisors on plan design, investments, retirement readiness, affiliated product solutions, and new opportunities
  • Partner with local sales team to deepen advisor relationships, develop new business, and grow existing business (travel expected for local or regional onsite advisor and client meetings)
  • Independently handle complex issues, clients, accounts, projects, analyses, internal relationships, and problem-solve escalated issues, as well as effectively navigate challenging/difficult negotiations with little reliance on leadership
  • Support business initiatives through project leadership and training responsibilities, including mentoring and delivery of plan level reviews incorporating employee education planning

What you will bring

  • FINRA 6 and 63 registration required within corporate-established timelines
  • State Life Insurance license required within corporate timelines
  • FINRA fingerprinting required
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years financial services or other relevant experience and 5+ years building strategic relationships, as well as advanced understanding of ERISA concepts such as compliance, plan design, and regulatory requirements
  • Flexibility to travel 40 to 60 percent of time as needed by territory or book of business, including travel via personal vehicle or air travel with overnight stays

What will set you apart

  • Ability to sort and organize facts, data, and other information to define a problem and develop effective solutions for clients or internal partners, and then effectively communicate those solutions
  • Previous experience presenting to large groups and individuals
  • Demonstrated track record of success with client retention, sales finals, and positioning of affiliated product solutions
  • Having an advanced investment acumen as it pertains to retirement investment vehicles with the ability to provide education around investment solutions where appropriate for plan or participant needs; Empower company and operational knowledge including internal teams and demonstrated ability to navigate within the organization preferred
  • Holding an industry specific designation

Base Salary Range

$111,800.00 - $162,125.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
