If so, we 're looking for someone like you to join our Contracts Management team at APL.

We are seeking a Contracts Administrator to support all facets of prime contract administration within the Business, Construction and Facilities Department (BCFD), Contracts & Asset Management Group. You will serve as the primary interface between APL program/financial managers and government Contracting Officers, lead pre- and post-award contract formation, and manage activities for a portfolio of complex government contracts.

As a Contracts Administrator, you will...
  • Engage with APL staff and prospective customers to advise on contracting strategies, and working with Contracting Officers to ensure timely awards and seamless contractual coverage.
  • Review solicitation documents and draft contract terms and conditions for risk and acceptability, providing inputs to, and review of, proposals, and formulating and executing negotiation strategies.
  • Negotiate/administer a wide range of contracts, task orders and contract/task order modifications, and maintain data in electronic files and business systems.

    We are looking for someone who is forward thinking and thinks strategically to offer process improvements related to business practices, systems and tools aimed at increasing efficiency, productivity, and flexibility.


Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
  • Have 3 or more years of professional level experience as a Contracts Manager/Administrator in federal government contracting.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and FAR supplements.
  • Have strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Have proficient MS Word and Excel skills.
  • Are able to form close and effective partnerships.
  • Can multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and independently solve problems.
  • Are able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance or higher. If selected, you will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

  • Have 3 or more years of professional level experience as a Contracts Manager/Administrator in federal government "Prime" contracting.
  • Possess a Top Secret Clearance or higher.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
