Job Summary:



The Department of Neurology at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking to recruit a dynamic candidate to expand its clinical and/or basic science research programs within our Movement Disorders Section. The position is full time faculty, with the opportunity for academic promotion, which is determined on criteria of demonstrated excellence in the areas of education, research, clinical care, and community service. We are seeking individuals who are collaborative, communicative, caring, detail oriented, organized, proactive, able to think critically, focused on quality, dedicated to personal growth, and highly motivated. Rank is determined based on knowledge and experience.

The position is located at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Hours will vary depending on clinical schedules, research, other duties, and Department/Hospital needs. Key Responsibilities:

The duties in this faculty position will include teaching, research, and service responsibilities. The overall determination of research and clinical activities and allocation of time and effort will be subject to the determination of the Section Chief.

Clinical Duties include responsibilities at the faculty-level for the out-patient services with supervision of residents and medical students, supervision of patient procedures, and teaching of the house-staff as well as students.

Teaching activities including leading teaching conferences and training medical students, residents, and fellows.

Administrative responsibilities will include data entry into hospital systems, development of critical pathways, committee work and projects aimed at improving the specialty and department mission. It is assumed the bulk of this non-clinical time will be spent working toward the production of scholarship activities. Attendance at the meetings and educational events of the department and specialty programs is expected. Other duties may be assigned as need arises.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Assistant



  • Applicants must be Board Certified or eligible to be board certified before start date
  • Completed fellowship training in Movement Disorders
  • A State of Colorado medical license and DEA license must be obtained on or before hire date


Associate



  • Applicants must be board certified or eligible to be board certified before start date
  • A state of Colorado medical license and DEA license must be obtained on or before hire date
  • Completed fellowship training in Movement Disorders
  • Applicants must have a scholarly and academic record consistent with appointment at the Associate Professor level in the School of Medicine


Professor



  • Applicants must be board certified or eligible to be board certified before start date
  • A state of Colorado medical license and DEA license must be obtained on or before hire date
  • Completed fellowship training in a Neurological specialty
  • Applicants must have a scholarly and academic record consistent with appointment at the Professor level in the School of Medicine


Preferred Qualifications:



  • A record of previous or current research funding is highly desirable.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Assistant Professor - $180,000 - $211,000

Associate Professor - $199,000 - $242,000

Professor - $230,000 - $300,000

This position is eligible for the department incentive plan which would be in addition to the base salary.

It is anticipated that salary will be commensurate with American Association of Medical College (AAMC) benchmarks for the proposed academic rank. Specific salary is commensurate with skills and experience. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
