Position Summary:
Job duties include mechanical assembly, optical lens assembly, electronic assembly, and general assembly tasks in a fast pace dynamic manufacturing environment. Attention to detail during the assembly process is a must. Candidates must have experience with pneumatic tools and general mechanical assembly aptitude. Fine motor skills for small fastener and part assembly is required.

Position Summary:

Fine motor skills for small fastener and part assembly are required.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Follow safety protocol and guidelines.
*Read and interpret specific and highly detailed work instructions.
*Operate and troubleshoot torque tools, electric drivers, hand tools, and specialized optical equipment.
*Follow and abide by high-quality workmanship standards and requirements.
*Maintain a clean workspace and follow the manufacturing area's 6 S standards/routines.
*Perform soldiering and minor electronic assembly.
*Perform quality inspections, specific electronic inspections, and recognize workmanship defects.
*Operate multimeters, robotic equipment, and adhesive dispensers.
*Perform optical collimation.
*Discern micron-size debris in the optical systems.
*Identify and correct lens debris, digs, or other lens aberrations.
*Determine grease volume, thin film, thick film, and applications for optical mechanical contact features.
*Manage job routings and job ERP adjustments.
*Operate efficiently within the MRB processes.
*Train other assemblers in all areas of responsibility.

Education and/or Experience:
*High School Diploma or GED required. A college degree or applicable certifications are a plus.
*2-4 years of assembly experience. Optical mechanical assembly is required.
*Optics handling and cleaning are a plus.
*Ability to solder. Soldering certifications are a plus.
*Experienced in circuit board assembly procedures and skills.
*Have an understanding and knowledge base of electronics and ESD experience.
*Have lean manufacturing experience and knowledge with FIFO, 6S, and takt time.
*Skilled with torque tools and a general understanding of torque tool operation and adjustment.
*Proficient with moving job routings and job ERP transactions.
*Skilled in optical lens cleaning procedures.
*Skilled with torque tools and a general understanding of torque tool operation and adjustment.
*English reading and writing skills, with the ability to follow written directions.
*Proficient in writing and math.
*Computer and ERP system navigation and experience required.
*Ability to problem solve and develop assembly line efficiency ideas and upgrades.
*High attention to detail, with a focus on quality first.
*Ability to be trained and certified on many detailed assemblies, with a willingness to be cross-trained on many tasks.
*Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
*Ability to work with very minimal supervision and be self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Working Conditions:
*Regularly perform repetitive tasks
*Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) with the exception of lunch and break periods.
*Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours
*The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing area where frequent standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts, containers and materials up to 40 pounds.
*Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
*Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools in the assembly of parts.
*Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception and ability to focus on fine print.
Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
