The Dell Medical School of The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an experienced physician to join the Department of Women's Health as Associate Professor / Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine in the Comprehensive Fetal Care Center (CFCC).

The CFCC is a partnership between Dell Children's Medical Center and UT Health Austin, the clinical practice of the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin. Drs. Michael Bebbington and Kenneth Moise, internationally recognized in fetal medicine, complement the other specialists in high-risk pregnancy, neonatology and pediatric specialty care. A special emphasis on perinatal mental health in the Center is provided through the services of a designated social worker, psychologist and psychiatrist. Dell Children's Medical Center offers a state-of-the-art prenatal diagnosis facility, newly constructed operating suites, and a specialized delivery unit for women whose pregnancies are complicated by fetal anomalies.

The Dell Medical School accepted its first class of 50 students in 2016, with the explicit aim of creating a vital, inclusive health ecosystem. As part of The University of Texas at Austin, one of the nation's leading research universities, the candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate in such areas as robotics and advanced computerized technology. The Center has been designated by Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (a subsidiary of Johnson and Johnson) for the phase III development of a monoclonal antibody in the treatment of severe hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn.

Qualifications

Candidates for this unique specialty must hold Board Certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine along with advanced training and skills in ultrasound, prenatal fetal diagnosis and fetal intervention The highly-motivated candidate should also possess excellent obstetric clinical, teaching and communication skills, and feel comfortable practicing in an evidence-based academic environment with students, residents, fellows, and colleagues.

Required qualifications:



  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school
  • Eligible for a medical license in the state of Texas
  • Board certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • Eligible for appointment as an Associate Professor / Professor
  • Record of leadership and achievement in academic medicine
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity
