Position Summary
This position is responsible for administrative and supervisory work in food service management in a large dining commons. Assists in overall operation as manager directs. Assists in planning, organizing and directing Food Services personnel in food production and services. Holds regular production meetings with production staff. Assists in conducting regular sanitation inspection program. Work is performed under the direction of the Food Operations (Dining) Manager or Dining Commons Manager, and is evaluated through observation and in terms of customer satisfaction. All other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Extensive knowledge in operation of a food service with a diversified staff. Good interpersonal skills. Special event planning and production. Knowledge of food service sanitation. Knowledge of health & safety requirements applicable to a large scale food service operation.
A basic knowledge of PC's and/or food production software.
Ability to effectively supervise the work of others. Ability to maintain a variety of operating and general records. Knowledge of institutional or commercial food service management procedures and practices. Knowledge of health and safety requirements applicable to a large scale food service operation. Considerable knowledge of food values, nutrition & menu planning.
