Description

Accountable for the direct and indirect care for infants and women both in the inpatient or outpatient clinic setting. Develops feeding plans to address the nutritional needs of the infant that may include but is not limited to breastfeeding support, breast pumping support, and supplementation as appropriate. Provides lactation support and education to inpatients and to outpatients as directed by referral or in the clinic setting after discharge. Performs all duties in a manner that supports team concept caring and respect reflecting the philosophy of the department of nursing and the Sisters of Providence Mission. Demonstrates personal and interpersonal qualities that support the Core Values of Providence Health & Services.

Required qualifications:



  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Upon hire: International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
  • 2 years experience providing lactation care in a Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, or SCN department or in an outpatient mother baby clinical stetting


Preferred qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. All Registered Nurses without a minimum of Bachelor's degree in Nursing must obtain a Bachelor's degree in nursing or higher within 3 years of hire. A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN.
