Stationary Engineer - Plant Operations

Description

Under the direction of the Chief or Assistant Chief Engineer as authorized by the Area Director of Facilities, performs activities concerned with maintenance of systems, equipment, and machinery in the Medical Center facility. Ensures efficient and reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning (HVAC) and all other equipment and components/systems within the Medical Center.

Required Qualifications:



  • 3 years related experience and/or training in a healthcare environment
  • 3 years working knowledge and ability to perform duties of all trade classifications including electrical, (circuit, panel-level, MCCs, automated transfer switches and UPS), plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC
  • 3 years competency to operate and troubleshoot microprocessor-based devices including controls, switches, relays, and other electronics
  • 3 years ability to write, read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • 3 years ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other incumbents of the organization
  • 3 years safety, OSHA regulations and related documentation
  • 3 years also, refer to Position Specifications outlined in the appropriate collective bargaining agreement


Preferred Qualifications:



  • H.S. Diploma or GED - General Studies
  • Coursework/Training: Apprentice Training Program leading to designation as a Journeyman Engineer
  • 608 EPA Certification
