Class D2 Swimming Paraprofessional at Minnetonka Middle School East (MME), 6.5 hours per day for quarters 2 and 3

Assignment:

• 6.5 hours per day for quarters 2 and 3 (November 9, 2026 to March 25, 2027)

Job Responsibilities:

1. Under the direction of the physical education teachers, assist students in the water during swimming lessons.
2. Perform lifeguard duties, administer first aid, and perform rescue operations as needed.
3. Provide supervision in the locker room.
4. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

Job Qualifications:

1. Current Water Safety Instruction (WSI) certificate or lifeguard training, or willingness to obtain.
2. Previous experience performing job responsibilities related to the position.
3. Current CPR and/or first aid certification or willingness to obtain.
4. Evidence of understanding and knowledge of school rules.
5. Evidence of ability to work with middle school age children.
6. Evidence of cool judgment in crisis situation.
7. Evidence of ability to respect, protect and maintain confidentiality.
8. Evidence of strong communication skills and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
