At HDR, our employee-owners are fully engaged in creating a welcoming environment where each of us is valued and respected, a place where everyone is empowered to bring their authentic selves and novel ideas to work every day. As we foster a culture of inclusion throughout our company and within our communities, we constantly ask ourselves: What is our impact on the world? The power generation market continues to grow and evolve given strong capacity demand signals that haven't existed for over a decade. As a result, our national Power Generation team is poised for monumental growth. We are seeking a qualified Senior Mechanical Engineer to help our clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Engineer of Record or Owner's Engineer. HDR is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our national Power Generation team. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be joining a highly capable, multi-discipline team that supports power and energy projects primarily within the utility, IPP, industrial, and institutional sectors. Primary duties typically involve leadership of the project mechanical team, coordination with other engineering disciplines, monitoring and communication of project status, and providing mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner's engineer projects on both a technical and contractual level. Preferred candidates will have significant experience utility-scale power generation systems and equipment, and proven ability to plan, schedule, and lead design projects. Typical deliverables developed by this individual and/or their team include construction drawings, bid specifications, mechanical equipment sizing calculations, technical memos, bid evaluations, code reviews, feasibility studies, reports and cost estimates. Significant experience with the design and specification of power generation systems for simple cycle, combined cycle, distributed generation, and RICE projects is preferred. Project roles will vary based on the size and type of the project, as well as the capabilities, experience, and preferred focus of the engineer. Project roles will typically consist of lead mechanical engineer and project engineering manager and may include project manager. Most tasks will be done in a collaborative manner involving engineers and designers from several other disciplines Preferred Qualifications
