Job Summary: Lafayette Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Governance & Strategic Communications Advisor to support government coordination, governance, and strategic planning for external-facing cybersecurity products and releases. This role will help develop strategy, define overarching goals and objectives, and create fiscal year implementation plans to drive measurable progress against cybersecurity product priorities. The Senior Advisor will support the three governance bodies requiring strong strategic communications skills, familiarity with cybersecurity topics, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to help shape product concepts, roadmaps, workflows, and release planning. This role must help ensure more than 1,600 pieces of annual cybersecurity products and content are accurately captured, updated, and tracked as they move through a product development lifecycle, requiring attention to detail, strong judgment, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain composed under pressure.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support development and execution of the strategy, including overarching goals, objectives, governance processes, annual strategic product priorities, a Strategic Product Roadmap, and fiscal year implementation plans.
  • Support Task Force governance bodies by preparing materials, coordinating meetings and planning sessions, tracking decisions, documenting outcomes, and managing follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate across government subdivisions, External Affairs, product owners, subject matter experts, communications teams, and leadership stakeholders to support strategic product planning, release coordination, and shared situational awareness.
  • Maintain awareness of strategic plans, annual operating plans, leadership priorities, and product guidance to ensure Task Force activities and product recommendations remain aligned.
  • Review proposed external-facing products for strategic alignment, audience relevance, messaging opportunities, release timing, workflow status, and potential overlap with other client efforts.
  • Identify and track interdependencies, redundancies, risks, gaps, delays, and opportunities across product development efforts to improve coordination, reduce duplication, and support timely escalation.
  • Maintain Task Force documentation, including CONOPS, SOPs, work instructions, governance materials, decision logs, implementation trackers, project plans, action trackers, dashboards, and status updates.
  • Maintain and update the Production Dashboards in ServiceNow to ensure products, content entries, owners, milestones, dependencies, statuses, and workflow updates are accurate and current as products move through the development lifecycle.
  • Develop reporting products and leadership updates on major strategic initiatives, product coordination activities, roadmap progress, risks, and key decisions, including monthly reports, leadership notes, briefings, and internal communications products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across subdivisions, governance bodies, product teams, communications teams, and other stakeholders to support effective coordination and decision-making.
  • Provide clear written and verbal communications and produce high-quality deliverables with limited oversight in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Work through existing relationships and contract alignment to connect related efforts, identify and address information gaps, and improve customer service, stakeholder engagement, and information sharing at all levels.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, with Master's preferred, in communications, public relations, marketing, business, cybersecurity, information systems, public administration, or a related field.
  • Ten or more years of professional experience supporting strategic communications, governance, executive support, program management, or strategic planning.
  • Experience developing strategies, implementation plans, governance materials, executive briefings, reports, SOPs, CONOPS, work instructions, or related documentation.
  • Experience supporting federal agency communications, public affairs, external affairs, product coordination, or stakeholder engagement operations.
  • Experience writing and reviewing a range of communications and coordination products for senior audiences.
  • Demonstrated project management experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives, including developing project plans, managing timelines and dependencies, tracking decisions and deliverables, coordinating stakeholder input, and escalating risks to support timely execution.
  • Strong understanding of communications best practices, product planning, stakeholder coordination, and cross-functional workflows.
  • Ability to identify connections across programs, operations, products, timelines, risks, and stakeholder priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, meetings, products, and stakeholder requests with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Active TS security clearance and SCI eligibility; must have US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain DHS Suitability (EOD).
  • Experience supporting or advising senior-level government staff, including GS-15 and above or equivalent leadership.
  • Experience supporting federal cybersecurity, national security, or critical infrastructure missions.
  • Familiarity with government product development lifecycles, external-facing content workflows, release coordination, or product governance processes.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity topics, government cybersecurity priorities, strategic products, operational products, advisories, guidance, reports, and public-facing content.
  • Experience supporting governance bodies, councils, steering committees, editorial boards, task forces, or cross-division coordination groups.
  • Experience developing annual strategic priorities, product roadmaps, implementation plans, performance trackers, and governance reporting.
  • Experience using ServiceNow or similar workflow management, dashboard, ticketing, or product tracking systems.
