Sales Cost Estimator Position Overview Title: Sales Cost Estimator Reports to: New Business Manager Location: Kent, WA Type: Exempt (Salaried) Work Schedule: 1st Shift; Full Time Job Summary Drive accuracy and growth as a key member of our estimating team. In this high-visibility, high-volume role, you will own the end-to-end quoting process. This position serves as the primary liaison between internal operations, including sales, production, billing, and customers requiring estimating support. Salary: $81,000 - $99,000; placement within this range will be based on previous experience and overall qualifications. What We Offer Mentorship: Direct guidance from senior leaders across Sales, Quality, and Operations Modern Tools: Opportunity to work with advanced sales and data tools like Power BI and ERP Continuing Education: Up to $5,250 annually toward coursework and/or professional certifications related to this role Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) matching, and a Performance Share incentive compensation (Profit Sharing) plan Work-Life Balance: 3 weeks of paid time off to start, 10 paid holidays, and a paid community service day Wellness Perks: Parental leave, short/long-term disability, and onsite health services including access to an onsite massage therapist The Ideal Candidate Action-Oriented: Possesses a strong bias for action and operates with a genuine sense of urgency Growth-Minded: Coachable, eager to develop through feedback, and motivated by upward future mobility Value-Driven: Eager to understand, confidently present, and proactively execute the company's core value drivers Emotionally Intelligent: Capable of building deep trust with diverse teams and leadership levels Adaptable: Comfortable navigating ambiguity, tight deadlines, and constant change in a fast-paced environment Strong Communicator: Delivers clear, concise, and professional written and verbal interactions Key Responsibilities Quoting & Estimating: Read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings and specifications to produce competitive, timely quotes Sales Growth: Reach out to customers proactively to prospect for new business and maximize profitable sales volume Data Analysis: Analyze sales history and trends to implement value-based pricing and improve estimating practices Tool & Process Innovation: Collaborate on projects to modernize our current estimation infrastructure, including identifying workflows to incorporate AI and automation tools for faster, more accurate estimating process System Management: Maintain and update the quotation and pricing segments of the ERP system Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to ITAR compliance guidelines and secure handling of sensitive documents Qualifications & Experience 3-5 years of experience in Customer Service, Sales, or Finishing Production (relevant internships will be considered) BA/BS degree in a related field of study preferred or equivalent practical experience Ability to read and understand aerospace engineering documents Strong proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (Syteline experience is highly preferred) Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility Essential Mental/Physical Demands: Ability to sit in an office for long periods but also comfortable with working in a manufacturing environment as well. Extensive use of hands in writing, computer and using mechanical equipment. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. on an occasional basis. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
