Assistant Professor (tenure-track) and Associate Professor (tenured) in Business Economics

Tufts University
United States, Massachusetts, Medford
Oct 13, 2026

The Department of Economics invites applications to fill two full-time faculty positions starting in September 2027, one at the rank of assistant professor and another at the rank of associate professor. Applications will be considered from all candidates with applied research interests related to business economics, including but not limited to relationships among firms, labor relations and training, trade and finance, regulation and taxation of firms, innovation and entrepreneurship, and key business sectors such as health care, energy and real estate. We are especially interested in those candidates with research interests that complement the department's existing strengths in research in applied microeconomics and applied macroeconomics and fulfill the department's aspirations for excellence in research in the broad area of business economics, with teaching and advising concentrated in this area. Both scholars will be expected to participate actively in the new business economics minor to be offered in the department. Candidates are expected to develop an outstanding research program, to provide excellent teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels and supervise student research.

Candidates should expect to receive their Ph.D. prior to the start of the appointment.

To apply, candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae and a recent research paper to https://apply.interfolio.com/195570. Candidates should have three writers of reference letters submit their confidential letters directly to Interfolio. Review of applications will begin in mid- to late-November and continue until the position is filled. For questions regarding these positions, please email Debra Knox at debra.knox@tufts.edu.

All offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a background check.
