Campus Recreation, within the Division for Student Affairs, strives to create a space and environment for students to move joyfully, explore different types of physical activity, enjoy constructive competitive opportunities for individuals of all abilities and connect with others in meaningful ways. The home base for programming is the Lerner Health and Wellness Center (
LHWC). Campus Recreation offers a diverse range of programming opportunities, including intramural sports, club sports, group fitness classes, personal training sessions, fitness clinics and workshops, outdoor education programs, drop-in recreation, and certification courses.
This Senior Member Service Coordinator position will report to the Student Development Manager for Campus Recreation and is responsible for:
- Coordinate and monitor all membership sales, locker rentals, and front desk access control.
- Identify and pursue opportunities that will improve revenue generation, service quality and operational effectiveness for the facility and its services.
- Work closely with the Associate Director to review financial reconciliations related revenue collection including memberships, programs and services for Campus Recreation.
- Manage all aspects of the business operations software system which encompasses a membership CRM, access control, activity registration, equipment rental, online purchasing and payment processing modules. Liaison for GW IT, GWorld and all external groups.
- Implement a comprehensive marketing plan designed to maximize membership and revenue, while also expanding guest participation and engagement.
- Lead the development, production, and distribution of physical and digital promotions and external email communications.
- Coordinate coverage and represent Campus Recreation at various events throughout the year.
- Develop and delivers training and establishes guidelines for student staff development in the areas of membership sales and guest services. Supervise and evaluate up to 15 Fitness Attendants, 25 Guest Service Attendants, and 1 Marketing Assistant.
The position is based at GW's Foggy Bottom Campus in Washington, DC. The incumbent may be assigned other related duties as needed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. |
| Minimum Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |
| Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: |
Obtained within the first 90 days:
CPR/AED/First Aid from American Red Cross or equivalent- DC Certified Pool Operator

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, the Internet, E-mail) and in using standard office equipment.
