JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL FUNCTION The primary focus of this position is to work in any areas of the Finish and Surface Departments. Duties of this position are usually repetitive, requiring analysis and use of individual judgment.. Supervision may be minimal.


It is required that this position maintain regular, prompt attendance and availability for overtime as needed.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • FINISH - Able to perform all duties of the Associate Technician and Production Technician
  • Tier 3, Specialty operations of machinery and mounting of special or priority jobs. Drill and mount lenses into specialty frames, final inspection, handstone and bigs, finish breakage analyst, edger calibration. Perform more complicated functions: Edger Operator - Special Edger Operator; Fully understands rates, thickness, timing, and machine performance; Mounting- takes on special assignments and new activities.
  • Mentor, train and support - onboarding/training of new hires and development of current team members.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge in one or more specialized functions.
  • Perform the duties of a team lead as back up and support Supervisor functions as assigned - may lead or guide the work of others in the area assigned.May be assigned work to be done without established procedures and troubleshooting assignments.
  • SURFACE - Satisfactorily perform all duties of the Associate Technician and Production Technician
  • Tier 3, Monitor automated surfacing equipment; Polisher, Deblock/Wash, ART Blocking; VFT generator/Calibration; Deblock, Spincoat/Automapper; Surface breakage analyst.
  • AR- COATING - Satisfactorily perform all duties of the Associate Technician and Production Technician
  • Tier 3, Specialty - Chemical & Product Control: Operate, read and analyze the results from the spectrophotometer. Analysis of coating results and adjust the machine to control the proper mix of chemicals on the lenses; Coating Breakage analyst; Sandblasting: Disassemble and clean machines daily including the sandblasting of the parts.
  • Rotate positions in operations to meet production needs
  • Work in cross-functional teams to support projects/continuous improvement initiatives (i.e.safety, quality systems, SOP/work instructions, change management)
  • Perform all duties in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work in a role with measurable standards - maintaining production goals.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • 2-3 years of previous related experience and/or training or able to perform the functions of this position meeting standard production goals.
  • Must have strong fine motor skills and dexterity to coordinate use of hands and fingers to grasp, feel objects, transfer small items from one hand to another, fine manipulation, and bilateral reach with arms.Use of close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret, goals, objectives, policies and procedures.Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.Basis computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).Data & Software- use CMMS systems, able to learn and understand LMS.Exemplifies team work and demonstrates leadership skills, good judgment and critical decision making skills

Pay Range:23.05-35.16
