The Broward County Crisis Intervention and Support Division (CISD), part of the Human Services Department, ensures a comprehensive continuum of crisis and intervention services for youth, adults, families, and survivors of sexual assault, child abuse, and human trafficking. The Nancy J. Cotterman Center, is recognized nationally as the only Accredited Child Advocacy Center, the Certified Sexual Assault Program, and the Child Protection Team in Broward County. The Office of Justice Services oversees the Adult and Juvenile Civil Citation Programs - which serves as an early intervention to keep individuals out of the criminal justice system by holding them accountable and reducing re-offenses. OJS also supports the Juvenile Pre-Disposition Services program which provides case coordination of youth who have been arrested by linking them to community providers and other interventions while they await the disposition of their case. CISD administration provides administrative, fiscal, and operational oversight for the Justice Services Section and the Nancy J. Cotterman Center, which includes Crisis/Counseling and Child Protection Team/Medical Services.

General Description

This position leads the coordination and management of a major county program, overseeing operations, grants, stakeholder partnerships, and data reporting to ensure high-impact community services. It plays a key role in advancing OVW-funded initiatives by collaborating with law enforcement, prosecutors, and technical assistance providers to strengthen the county's sexual violence response efforts. -
Works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business, public administration or closely related field. (One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)
- Requires two (2) years experience in a staff or administrative capacity managing special projects, programs or business operations in Human Services or closely related experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses
- Possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver's License based on area of assignment.
Preferences
- Experience supporting programs related to sexual violence response and survivor services.
- Bilingual English/Spanish and/or English/Creole and/or English/Portuguese.

The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional off-site meetings that may take place during evenings or weekends. -

SCOPE OF WORK

Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary. -Coordinates and manages all aspects of a large program or project within an agency. -Plans, develops, authorizes, implements, supervises and evaluates programs/projects, activities and services; prepares reports, analyzes and interprets data. -Develops policies, procedures and guidelines related to programs/projects and services. -Promotes and assesses agency programs and services; cooperatively plans and implements programs and community-wide special events. -Implements funding opportunities, including advertising and marketing, and researches potential grant opportunities; develops grant proposals to secure funding from federal, state, local, and/or private sources;oversees the coordination, preparation, and submission of grants to ensure compliance with established Broward County policies and procedures; manages and tracks grant budgets. -May perform quality control checks on operating documents to ensure accuracy, creates and modifies PowerPoint presentations for agency communication. -Monitors and supervises maintenance of project records and documentation. -Acts as administrative liaison among various County operational and administrative functions related to assigned programs and projects. -Conducts special studies in conjunction with a project, analyzes data, and makes recommendations based upon studies. -Creates and maintains performance/production reports (spreadsheets). This includes monthly productivity reports which provide monthly statistics for transactions processed and revenue generated. -Communicates key procedural changes to staff and management. -Ensures OVW grant deliverables are met within required time frame. -Establish a positive working relationship with the assigned grant manager. -Complete OVW reporting requirements biannually, or as directed by OVW, in a timely manner. -Oversee grant activities which may involve internal staff, stakeholders, and technical assistance providers. -Coordinate with technical assistance providers to secure optimum use of available resources from OVW. -Establish and maintain professional and positive relationship with stakeholders (law enforcement, State Attorney's Office, and other professionals involved with sexual assault investigations. -Maintain open communication with stakeholders. -Report on feedback/input received from stakeholders to supervisor/leadership. -Coordinate and co-lead the Sexual Assault Response Team/ Child Abuse Coordination Committee meetings. -Maintain established data collection practices with all engaged law enforcement agencies and the State Attorney's Office. -Performs related work as assigned.
This position is grant-funded and continued employment is contingent upon ongoing funding. Due to location and assignment - staff must pass and maintain a level 2 background. If staff at anytime during the course of their employment fails a level 2 background, they will no longer be eligible for this position per Florida State Statute.
