Network, Systems & Cybersecurity Administrator

Position Opportunities, Highlights and Activities:

The Network, Systems & Cybersecurity Administrator is a full-time, hands-on role supporting secure, reliable enterprise IT services for a U.S. Department of War (DoW) contractor operating in regulated federal environments. The position supports administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across enterprise networks, Windows, macOS, and Linux systems, cloud services, identity and access management, endpoint management, virtualization, backup and recovery, collaboration platforms, and cybersecurity controls.

Responsibilities include configuring and supporting network and security technologies; administering Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune, and related services; supporting Windows and Apple endpoints; automating routine administration with PowerShell or comparable tools; managing system lifecycle, patching, vulnerability remediation, logging and monitoring; assisting with incident response and disaster recovery; and providing responsive technical support to staff across multiple locations. The successful candidate will understand how security requirements influence day-to-day IT operations in the Defense Industrial Base. This includes practical knowledge of NIST SP 800-171 security requirements and controls applicable to protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and supporting Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) compliance, along with familiarity with relevant FAR and DFARS cybersecurity obligations. The role requires sound judgment, disciplined documentation, secure configuration practices, and the ability to balance operational requirements with cybersecurity and compliance objectives. Candidates should be comfortable taking ownership, working independently and collaboratively, adapting to changing priorities and technologies, and supporting projects or incidents outside normal business hours when required.

This full-time position is primarily onsite at ES3's Utah operations. Qualified candidates located in Georgia may also be considered based on business needs and their ability to support the role effectively. The position supports staff and systems across multiple company locations and may require periodic travel, planned after-hours maintenance, and response to time-sensitive operational or cybersecurity events. The role works closely with technical staff, management, vendors, and other stakeholders in a collaborative, security-conscious environment.

Candidate Education, Skills & Capabilities Required:

• 7+ years of current, directly relevant professional experience administering and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, networks, systems, or cybersecurity in a production environment
• Windows Server, Windows desktop, and macOS endpoint administration; Microsoft 365 administration, identity and access, and modern endpoint management

• Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune or comparable modern endpoint management, and PowerShell automation; familiarity with Group Policy and traditional domain-based administration is beneficial for supporting hybrid or legacy environments

• Core network services and technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, firewall policy, wireless networking, and secure remote connectivity
• Security-focused administration of endpoints, servers, networks, and cloud services, including hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, logging, and monitoring

• Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-171 security requirements and controls relevant to protecting CUI and supporting CMMC compliance; familiarity with applicable FAR and DFARS cybersecurity requirements
• Microsoft Azure or comparable cloud administration experience, including hybrid identity, cloud security, resiliency, backup, and recovery concepts
• Virtualization, enterprise backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity technologies and practices

• Linux and macOS administration and troubleshooting in heterogeneous enterprise environments, including Apple hardware support, device configuration, endpoint security, software deployment, and lifecycle management

• Experience with incident response, root-cause analysis, change and configuration management, technical documentation, and secure troubleshooting practices
• Ability to independently prioritize and execute projects, coordinate with vendors, support end users, and collaborate effectively across technical and business teams
• Relevant bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline preferred. Candidates without a related degree must hold a current Security+ or equivalent/higher security credential and at least one additional role-relevant industry certification, together with substantial hands-on experience

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft 365 Government, GCC High, Azure Government, or other regulated government cloud environments
• Experience supporting DoD, federal contractor, CUI, or similarly regulated enterprise environments
• Enterprise firewall, network segmentation, routing, switching, VPN, and secure remote-access administration
• Security information and event management (SIEM), centralized logging, security monitoring, and incident investigation
• Endpoint detection and response (EDR/XDR), endpoint security, application control, and threat protection technologies across Windows, macOS, and other supported platforms
• Identity security including MFA, Conditional Access, privileged access, least privilege, and Zero Trust concepts
• Vulnerability management, secure configuration baselines, remediation tracking, and familiarity with STIG or CIS guidance
• Demonstrated experience administering virtual machines, enterprise storage, backup, and recovery platforms
• Unified communications, VoIP, or collaboration platform administration
• Infrastructure monitoring, scripting, automation, and systems-management tools
• Additional role-relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, CySA+, CASP+/SecurityX, CISSP, Microsoft, Azure, or comparable credentials

Other Requirements:

• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
• As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to participate in a background investigation and be able to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
• This position requires minimum to moderate travel, typically up to 2-3 days per month, with occasional travel to other company or customer locations as business needs require
• This is a full-time, primarily onsite position. Participation in a shared after-hours support rotation is required, including occasional evening or weekend work for maintenance, deployments, outages, cybersecurity events, or other time-sensitive operational needs. Qualified candidates located in Georgia may also be considered based on business needs
