| Position Summary |
This is an Administrative Associate position in the Department of Human Development and Family Science (
HDFS) within the College of Family and Consumer Sciences. The position provides administrative and academic program support for the department's academic programs, including the Couple and Family Therapy (
CFT) doctoral and master's programs and the Child Life program. The incumbent supports faculty, program directors, coordinators, and departmental leadership in the administration and coordination of academic programs, student service activities, assessment and reporting processes, and program communications.
The position serves as an administrative resource for the department, providing support for academic programs, admissions and recruitment activities, assessment and reporting processes, program records management, communications, and other departmental initiatives.
The incumbent also supports departmental operations through coordination of events, student engagement, and dissemination of departmental information through print and digital media channels. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and effective collaboration with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
This position reports directly to the Department Head of Human Development and Family Science and works closely with the
HDFS Office Manager, who provides guidance regarding day-to-day activities, departmental priorities, and administrative procedures. |

Graduate Program Academic Support:
- Assist Couple & Family Therapy (CFT) doctoral program, Couple and Family Therapy master's program and Child Life program directors and coordinators.
- Gather and organize records for accreditation / certification documentation, and assisting with preparation of application materials. This includes assisting directors in day-to-day activities as assigned.
- Assist in developing and maintaining database for tracking student information for reporting, and administer student surveys (e.g., through QuestionPro).
- Assist CFT PhD, MS CFT and Child Life program directors in organizing records (e.g., MOUs) with internship and similar placements.
- Facilitate communication among internship sites and program directors.
- Other support of CFT and Child Life programs as assigned by Department Head and Office Manager.

General Departmental Administrative Support:
- Assist in the development and administration of student and faculty intramural awards.
- Monitor faculty and student research.
- Assist Department Head and FACS Communication staff to produce and disseminate HDFS research news via print and social media outlets.
- Support relationships with alumni by maintaining alumni database, assisting with event planning, and assisting with dissemination of department news to alumni.
- Assist the Graduate Program Administrator as needed, such as with coordinating admissions activities, interview scheduling, campus visits, and orientations.
- Assist with organization, coordination and execution of general departmental events
- Other duties as assigned by Department Head and Office Manager.

- Assist Undergraduate Coordinator and HDFS Office Manager with course scheduling, assessing and recording student learning outcomes (e.g., through Xitracs), and preparing annual reports.
- Assist in undergraduate recruitment by developing recruitment materials, working with Student Success and Advising Center to promote the major at events.
- Assist in recruiting and tracking student progress in Double Dawgs
- Assist in planning undergraduate HDFS Association meetings.
- Provide office support (e.g., photocopies) for high credit-hour courses as assigned by Department Head and Office Manager
