Location: This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to One Energy Plaza (OEP) located in Jackson, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).

General Summary of Job Responsibilities

The Director, Talent Acquisition (TA) is responsible for building a world-class talent acquisition function aligned with CMS Energy's business strategy. The incumbent will be responsible for the talent acquisition team, TA operations, TA strategy, employer branding, hiring processes, coordination with Compensation and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) teams and partnerships with leaders across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key advisor and partner to leadership, hiring managers as well as People & Culture leadership by proactively aligning the talent acquisition efforts to achieve strategic initiatives and objectives that are integral and support the Talent Roadmap and the company's business strategy
  • Lead and manage projects that improve processes, reduce waste, eliminate manual intervention, and reduce human struggle within the TA department
  • Develop and implement talent acquisition strategy including the transformation of talent acquisition capabilities, creating a proactive, responsive and effective hiring and onboarding experience, with a focus on delivering what the business needs
  • Responsible for ensuring qualified diverse candidate pools for all roles through effective sourcing strategies, ensure diverse interview panels, enable continuous process improvement, ensure proper training for all those involved in the hiring process, and skill building for the TA team in all areas
  • Lead TA operations with a focus on continuous improvement of candidate and hiring manager experience, reduce unconscious bias, establish performance metrics and visual management, and identify and implement effective sourcing strategies. to attract and onboard diverse talent
  • Lead a high-performing team to meet performance goals and objectives of the Talent Strategy and TA Department Goals. Oversee, assess and measure effectiveness by integrating and monitoring metrics to reflect overall success of Talent Acquisition. Coach and guide team members in their development
  • Responsible for the integrity of the hiring process and compliance obligations (e.g., employment; OFFCP, DOL Regulations, reporting; etc.)
  • Lead a high-performing team to meet performance goals and objectives of the Talent Roadmap. Oversee, assess and measure effectiveness by integrating and monitoring metrics to reflect overall success of Talent Acquisition
  • Responsible for the TA budget, monitors, and takes appropriate action to achieve budget targets
  • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related with 10 years of experience in human resources and in a talent acquisition role; experience in a leadership role/with a proven track record as a results-oriented leader in talent acquisition
  • [OR] Associate's Degree in Human Resources or related with 12 years of experience in human resources and in a talent acquisition role; experience in a leadership role/with a proven track record as a results-oriented leader in talent acquisition
  • [OR] High School Diploma with 14 years of experience in human resources and in a talent acquisition role; experience in a leadership role/with a proven track record as a results-oriented leader in talent acquisition
