More Than a Job: A Mission
We are seeking an Incoming Inspector Leader to join our team in Plattsburgh, NY. In this role, you will lead the Incoming Inspection team and ensure that purchased materials, components, and products meet Alstom's quality standards and customer requirements.
Your Role, Your Impact
- Lead and coordinate the Incoming Inspection team, including daily workload planning, priority setting, and team development.
- Ensure timely inspection of incoming materials and maintain inspection requirements, control plans, and documentation within ERP systems.
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality and Operations teams to support supplier quality performance, resolve non-conformances, and communicate material quality issues.
- Oversee compliance with quality procedures, calibration requirements, and inspection record management.
- Coordinate external inspections, laboratory testing, and special process verifications as required.
- Track KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection efficiency, quality performance, and process effectiveness.
What You Bring
- Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, inspection- strong quality background is mandatory.
- Experience with incoming inspections/receiving inspections.
- Experience using quality inspection tools, particularly calipers.
- Experience leading or coordinating teams is preferred.
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP is preferred) and quality documentation.
- Understanding of quality assurance principles and inspection methodologies.
- Knowledge of control plans, quality documentation, and non-conformance reporting processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pay Transparency Statement
In accordance with New York State pay transparency requirements, the anticipated annual salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000. The final salary offered will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, education, qualifications, and business needs. Here, progress isn't always easy but the impact is real.
