Senior Engagement Owner

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Engagement Owner is responsible for the overall management and successful delivery of Oracle Health (Cerner Millennium) implementation, rollout, consolidation, and optimization engagements, owning scope, schedule, budget, risk, resourcing, and governance for an engagement and ensuring that functional, technical, and revenue cycle workstreams progress together through design, build, validation, and go-live readiness.

This role works closely with consultants and other functional and technical delivery resources to keep engagements on schedule and budget, manage risks and issues, and coordinate across workstreams. The Engagement Owner serves as the primary point of contact for client project sponsors and stakeholders on delivery status throughout the engagement.

JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Own end-to-end project management for assigned Oracle Health implementation, rollout, consolidation, or optimization engagements, from kickoff through go-live and stabilization.

2. Develop and maintain the overall project schedule, coordinating iterative design, build, validation, and readiness cycles across functional and technical workstreams.

3. Manage project scope, tracking and escalating scope changes through a defined change-control process.

4. Own the project risk and issue log, driving mitigation plans and escalating unresolved items to client and internal leadership as needed.

5. Coordinate resourcing and staffing needs across functional consultants, technical consultants, and other delivery resources.

6. Serve as the primary point of contact for client project sponsors and stakeholders on overall project status, timeline, and deliverables.

7. Facilitate project governance activities, including steering committee updates, status meetings, and decision logs.

8. Track and report project budget and financials, including hours, burn rate, and change orders, in coordination with delivery leadership.

9. Partner with technical delivery resources to align technical readiness activities with the overall project timeline and milestones.

10. Coordinate cutover planning, go-live readiness assessments, and stabilization activities across all workstreams.

11. Identify interdependencies between clinical, technical, and revenue cycle workstreams, and proactively manage handoffs between teams.

12. Facilitate regular status reporting, including dashboards, executive summaries, and milestone tracking, for both client and internal audiences.

13. Support development and refinement of standardized project management templates, tools, and processes across engagements.

14. Ensure project documentation - charters, schedules, risk logs, status reports - stays complete, current, and audit-ready.

15. Manage client relationships and expectations throughout the engagement, addressing concerns and maintaining a productive working relationship.

16. Contribute lessons learned and process improvement recommendations to the broader delivery methodology.

JOB SCOPE

The Senior Engagement Owner operates as the project management lead for Oracle Health implementation engagements, coordinating broadly across functional, technical, and revenue cycle workstreams and managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk in a fast-paced, client-facing environment. This position works under general direction, exercising independent judgment to keep engagements on track, resolve or escalate issues, and manage client relationships and stakeholder expectations throughout delivery.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, and Training)

1. Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent related experience.

2. 5+ years of project management experience, including managing healthcare IT or EHR implementation engagements; Oracle Health (Cerner Millennium) implementation experience strongly preferred.

3. Demonstrated experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, and risk on complex, multi-workstream engagements.

4. Experience facilitating project governance activities, including steering committees, status reporting, and decision logs.

5. Strong understanding of healthcare IT implementation methodologies and the interdependencies between clinical, technical, and revenue cycle workstreams.

6. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and expectations at multiple levels.

7. Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and resources without direct authority over technical solution decisions.

8. PMP certification or an equivalent project management credential preferred.

9. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements or workstreams.

10. Ability to travel and work on-site at client facilities as required to support implementation activities.
