Manager-Indirect Purchasing-Supply Management

The Manager serves as a key business partner to Finance, Engineering, Operations, Facilities, Information Technology, Human Resources, Quality, and other stakeholders to ensure procurement activities align with corporate objectives, support growth initiatives, and deliver measurable business value. This role is expected to lead procurement transformation efforts, promote strategic supplier partnerships, and continuously improve procurement processes, systems, and performance metrics.

8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Monday-Friday) On-Site

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $128,084 - $169,711 Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Essential Functions:

• Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Develop and execute category management and sourcing strategies for indirect materials and services.

• Identify, qualify, and manage strategic suppliers to achieve quality, delivery, service, cost, and performance objectives.

• Conduct market analysis and supplier benchmarking to identify cost savings, process improvements, and industry trends.

• Build strong supplier partnerships and collaborate with Global Sourcing to drive innovation, continuous improvement, and performance management.
• Contract Negotiation & Commercial Management

• Assist in negotiations for pricing, payment terms, service-level agreements, and commercial contracts.

• Manage contract lifecycle activities, including renewals, amendments, compliance, and performance monitoring.

• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and business stakeholders to mitigate contractual and financial risks.

• Ensure supplier agreements support business objectives while maintaining favorable commercial terms and service quality.

• Establish procurement standards, terms, and conditions to protect S&C's interests and ensure compliance.

• Cost Management & Value Creation

• Develop procurement objectives and annual cost savings targets aligned with business goals.

• Drive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), value engineering, supplier consolidation, and process improvement initiatives.

• Analyze spend data to identify cost reduction, standardization, and efficiency opportunities across indirect spend categories.

• Support budgeting and forecasting activities and report savings, cost avoidance, and procurement performance metrics to leadership.
• Risk Management & Business Continuity

• Identify and assess supply chain, operational, financial, geopolitical, and supplier-related risks.

• Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure business continuity.

• Collaborate with Global Sourcing to monitor supplier performance, financial health, operational capabilities, and compliance requirements.

• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, ethical sourcing standards, regulatory requirements, and continuity planning processes.

• Cross-Functional Leadership

• Build collaborative partnerships with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Facilities, Quality, Information Technology, Human Resources, and Corporate Services.

• Provide procurement advising and support for strategic initiatives, capital projects, facility expansions, and technology investments.

• Participate in business case development and project implementation to ensure procurement objectives are achieved.

• Lead short-term organizational procurement process improvements, standardization efforts, and digital transformation initiatives.

• Promote best practices and enhance stakeholder engagement through effective communication and collaboration.

• Team Leadership & Talent Development

• Lead, develop, and coach procurement team members while driving departmental goals and performance metrics.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, continuous learning, and customer service excellence.

• Support employee growth through performance management, training, professional development, and succession planning.

• Champion employee engagement and build a high-performing procurement organization focused on continuous improvement.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

Required

• 7+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or category management experience, including leadership responsibilities.

• 2-3 years experience in leadership or management of team members

• Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and strategic sourcing methodologies.

• Proven track record of achieving measurable cost reductions, process improvements, and supplier performance enhancements.

• Experience with ERP systems, Oracle, procurement technologies, and spend analytics tools.

• Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze costs, budgets, and business cases.

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

• Preferred

• Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.

Education:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Finance, or a related field.

  Preferred:

• APICS/ASCM Certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent)
