The Forklift Operator/Warehouse Associate is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing customer orders in a fast-paced distribution environment. Duties include scanning barcodes, picking and labeling pallets, and using RF technology and a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to process orders while maintaining a strong focus on product and damage prevention. The position also involves loading and unloading inbound and outbound shipments, verifying inventory against shipping and receiving documentation, reporting discrepancies, locating and retrieving products, and replenishing picking locations. Additional warehouse duties may be assigned as needed.

Job Duties

• Process customer orders, including but not limited to scanning barcodes, picking pallets, and labeling pallets
• Process orders using RF technology, focusing on damage prevention
• Load and offload inbound and outbound shipments utilizing the WMS.
• Report discrepancies between the inventory count and shipping/receiving documents.
• Locate and retrieve products as well as replenish picking locations.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous warehouse training or powered industrial truck training is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to load, unload, move, stack, and organize palletized materials.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and safe equipment operation.
• Ability to accurately identify inventory, shipping documentation, and storage locations.
• Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to obtain a forklift certification.
• Ability to read and interpret distribution documents.
• Required to operate MHE and use an RF scanner.
• Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• General distribution knowledge.
• Strong initiative and drive for results.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Safety vest and safety shoes required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or shipping and receiving is preferred.
• Current forklift certification or experience operating multiple classes of powered industrial equipment is beneficial.
• Experience using RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), or inventory software is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate safe operating practices, teamwork, reliability, and productivity are well positioned for success as a Forklift Operator.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb on and off powered industrial equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, move, or reposition materials weighing up to 20 pounds when required.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts in busy warehouse and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, and inventory while operating powered industrial vehicles.
• While performing this job, the associate is regularly exposed to episodes of walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, crouching, reaching, pushing/pulling, grasping, hearing, twisting, lifting, frequent use of hand to finger, handle, feel, pick or type, which can include repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, or fingers.
• The associate may occasionally be required to climb.
