Payer Asset Head

We are looking for a strategic, collaborative, and influential Global Payer Head to join our Global Payer Portfolio team, based in Atlanta, Georgia; Boston, Massachusetts; Raleigh, North Carolina.

About the role

As Global Payer Head, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping global access, pricing, reimbursement, and evidence strategies for an innovative cell therapy portfolio. You will serve as a trusted strategic partner to cross-functional asset teams and executive leaders, ensuring payer perspectives are embedded throughout development and commercialization planning. This role is accountable for driving robust global payer strategies that optimize value for patients, healthcare systems, and UCB while supporting successful launches and long-term asset growth.

Who you'll work with

You will work closely with the Vice President, Health Technology Assessment & Payers, global asset leaders, access and pricing experts, health economics professionals, evidence generation teams, and regional and local market access organizations. You will lead a matrixed payer sub-team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure access considerations are integrated into key strategic decisions throughout the asset lifecycle.

• Co-create long-term global asset strategy and lifecycle planning.
• Lead global access, pricing, and payer evidence strategies.
• Direct a high-performing cross-functional payer sub-team.
• Shape value propositions through payer insights and market research.
• Integrate payer requirements into evidence generation plans.
• Support global launch readiness and access strategy execution.

Minimum Requirements

• Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, economics, or related field.
• 8+ years in market access, pricing, health economics, or payer strategy.
• Experience developing global access and reimbursement strategies.
• Knowledge of U.S. and major international healthcare systems.
• Proven leadership in complex matrixed organizations.
• Strong communication, analytical, and strategic planning skills.

Preferred Requirements

• PhD, PharmD, MD, MBA, or equivalent advanced qualification.
• Experience supporting innovative therapies or specialty medicines.
• Expertise in health technology assessment and reimbursement submissions.
• Experience with payer evidence generation and health economic modeling.
• Established network within payer, policy, or market access communities.
• Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders globally.

This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $237,000 - 311,000. The actual salary offered will take into account related knowledge, skills, experience and location among other factors and may fall outside the expected range.
