The Division of Epidemiology and Community Health, School of Public Health, University of Minnesota, seeks a graduate research assistant (25% time) to support cardiovascular pharmacoepidemiology research projects. The candidate would use administrative claims data, specifically MarketScan and the Medicare 20% sample. Projects may look at risk of developing cardiovascular disease, evaluate the comparative effectiveness and safety of pharmacotherapies, assess predictors of use of guideline-based care, etc. Topics of particular focus include understanding treatment practices and outcomes in rural areas, as well as the effects of contemporary drug therapies (e.g., GLP-1 RAs, SGLT2is) on cardiovascular disease outcomes. The graduate assistant will report to Dr. Pamela Lutsey, and the work will be conducted in-person at the West Bank Office Building (WBOB), Division of Epidemiology and Community Health located at 1300 South 2nd Street, Minneapolis, MN. The assistantship is for fall semester (October 1, 2026 - January 13, 2027) but may be renewable. It carries an hourly stipend ($28.93 - $33.61 an hour, depending on qualifications) and benefits.
