The Role

As a Financial Counselor, you will play a key role in assisting patients through the financial assistance and eligibility process while supporting important revenue cycle operations. This is a highly visible position that requires compassion, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

A typical day may include meeting with patients, reviewing financial assistance applications, answering questions regarding eligibility and available resources, managing assigned work queues, and collaborating with colleagues across patient financial services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Meet with patients to assist with financial assistance applications and eligibility determination.

• Guide patients through available financial assistance programs and resources.

• Process applications accurately and efficiently while maintaining quality standards.

• Manage assigned work queues and account follow-up activities.

• Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy.

• Support revenue cycle processes that contribute to appropriate reimbursement and account resolution.

• Maintain productivity and quality standards while navigating evolving workflows and processes.

• Partner with team members to promote a positive patient experience and successful outcomes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: 4 years relevant experience in customer service and extensive use of desktop computers and applications.

Licensure: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. Patient facing and seated most of the day.
