Project Quality Director

Play an integral role in ensuring the successful delivery of a major capital project through the leadership of project-wide quality, compliance, assurance, and continuous improvement programs.

This is a field-based leadership role located in Cameron, Louisiana. The successful candidate will be embedded within the project site and serve as a key member of the Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT), working directly with project leadership, engineering, construction, commissioning, contractors, and customer stakeholders. This is not a corporate or home-office quality position. Success in this role requires a strong site presence, active engagement with project teams, and the ability to influence quality culture and compliance performance across all phases of project execution.

As Project Quality Director, you will provide executive leadership for all Quality and Compliance activities across the project, ensuring that governance, assurance, operational performance, and compliance systems support safe, predictable, and successful project delivery. Your leadership will directly influence project performance, regulatory compliance, delivery certainty, operational readiness, and customer satisfaction.

This highly visible leadership role operates at the center of project delivery, working directly with Project Directors, Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, HSE, Contractors, and Customer leadership teams. Your ability to establish robust quality systems, drive a culture of accountability, and provide independent assurance over project execution will directly contribute to successful project outcomes.

Purpose of the role

The Project Quality Director is responsible for establishing, leading, and governing the Quality and Compliance function for a major EPC, PMC, or Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT) organization. You will develop and deploy the Quality and Compliance Management System, ensure the effective implementation of project assurance activities, and provide leadership in the development of quality culture, performance management, audit programs, management reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Based full-time at the project site in Cameron, Louisiana, you will serve as the overall Project Quality Director and Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT) Quality Director. Working closely with Project Leadership, Engineering, Construction, Quality, HSE, Commissioning, and Contractor organizations, you will ensure quality and compliance expectations are consistently implemented throughout the project lifecycle.

You will provide strategic guidance to the Project Directorate while ensuring quality and compliance activities are fully integrated into project delivery processes and aligned with corporate standards, customer expectations, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

You will be responsible for

• Serving as the overall Project Quality Director and Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT) Quality Director for the project.
• Developing and deploying the Project Quality and Compliance Policy to support project objectives and delivery requirements.
• Establishing and implementing the Project Quality and Compliance Management System using the Worley Management System as the foundational framework.
• Developing project Quality and Compliance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and implementing processes for performance measurement, analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Supporting the Project Directorate on all matters related to Quality, Compliance, Assurance, and organizational performance.
• Aligning with the HSE Director to ensure effective integration and compatibility of Quality, Compliance, and HSE management systems.
• Leading and managing the Project Assurance team, including assurance planning, resource deployment, performance management, and execution oversight.
• Liaising with Worley Assurance Leadership regarding project quality, compliance, governance, and assurance performance.
• Reporting Quality and Compliance performance to Project Leadership and corporate Assurance stakeholders.
• Engaging with contractor, supplier, customer, and stakeholder leadership teams to promote alignment on quality and compliance objectives.
• Developing and implementing project-wide Quality and Compliance forums that foster engagement, accountability, and performance improvement.
• Establishing continuous improvement methodologies that support project execution from development through closeout.
• Developing and implementing project quality event management systems aligned with the Worley Assurance System.
• Establishing and executing operational assessment, audit, surveillance, and assurance programs to verify compliance and drive operational excellence.
• Developing management review processes that provide ongoing executive oversight of project quality and compliance performance.
• Reviewing trends, non-conformances, audit findings, lessons learned, and performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Driving a culture of quality, compliance, operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the project organization.
• Supporting project teams in identifying and managing risks related to quality, governance, assurance, and compliance activities.
• Ensuring project quality and compliance programs support safe execution, operational readiness, customer satisfaction, and successful project delivery.

What you'll bring to the role

You bring a strong combination of quality leadership, assurance expertise, project delivery experience, and executive-level stakeholder management capability gained through major project environments.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Construction Management, Business Management, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Typically 15+ years of experience supporting quality, assurance, compliance, engineering, construction, commissioning, project controls, or project management functions.
• Minimum 10+ years of progressive Quality and Compliance leadership experience within major project environments.
• Proven experience within EPC, EPCM, PMC, industrial, energy, chemicals, resources, LNG, or major capital project organizations.
• Demonstrated experience serving in a field-based Quality, Assurance, or Compliance leadership role on a major EPC, EPCM, or PMC project.
• Proven experience leading project quality management systems, assurance programs, compliance frameworks, audit programs, and organizational improvement initiatives.
• Technical competency in general engineering and project delivery practices.
• Demonstrated success developing and implementing integrated management systems and project governance frameworks.
• Experience establishing KPIs, performance reporting systems, audit programs, management review processes, and assurance activities.
• Strong understanding of quality management principles, compliance systems, assurance methodologies, risk management, and continuous improvement practices.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at senior leadership levels and actively participate in project leadership decision-making.
• Proven ability to influence executives, contractors, customers, and project stakeholders in complex project environments.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary quality, assurance, and compliance teams.
• Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively within an Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT) environment and influence contractors, project teams, and senior stakeholders from a site-based leadership position.
• Willingness and ability to work a site-based schedule in Cameron, Louisiana throughout major phases of project execution.
