Assistant Professor in Mathematical Statistics

The Department of Mathematics, within the Division of Physical Sciences at the University of California, San Diego, invites applications for a new tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Mathematical Statistics and closely related areas. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated strengths in both research and teaching.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on UC pay scales. The starting date for the position is July 1, 2027. This position is subject to availability of funding.

-At the time of application, the candidate must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field, or if in progress, must complete their Ph.D. prior to the start date.

-Evidence of and/or demonstrated ability of scholarly impact and research productivity.

-Evidence of and/or demonstrated ability to teach and advise students.

• 3-10 letters of reference required

Reference Letters addressing research, teaching, and professional service. At least one letter should address teaching experience in some depth.
