Software Engineer III

Spectraforce Technologies
United States, California, Cupertino
Sep 15, 2026
Role: Software Engineer III

Location: Cupertino, CA (Hybrid, 3 days per week)

Duration: 8 + Months

This role will place you at the technical center of our developer community, working shoulder to shoulder with the studios that build for Arcade. You will be the engineer other engineers come to, and you will represent Org. as the face of our Arcade engineering for our game development partners.

Description

In this role, you will build deep technical expertise in a Company-provided framework that Arcade partner studios integrate into their titles, and you will use that expertise to support those studios directly. That means owning the integration documentation and sample code, building tooling and test plans that prove an integration is correct, and rolling up your sleeves to debug alongside a partner when something does not behave the way the API promised.

You will serve as the primary engineering point of contact for partner developers through office hours, direct correspondence, and hands-on support. When issues come in, you will triage them, separate partner-side integration mistakes from genuine framework bugs, and file well-reproduced reports back to the framework's engineering team. Recurring pitfalls should not stay tribal knowledge, so you will turn them into documentation, self-serve tooling, and feedback that shapes the framework's own roadmap.

Because many Arcade titles are built in Unity, you will also build and maintain a Unity plug-in wrapper around the framework to make adoption dramatically easier for those studios. This is a hybrid developer-relations and partner-engineering role rather than a heads-down feature-building role, and it is a good fit for someone who is energized by unblocking other developers at scale. The API surface will continue to evolve while you are already supporting early integrations, so comfort with ambiguity matters as much as technical depth.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful mobile app platform experience; iOS strongly preferred.
  • Strong Swift and/or Objective-C skills, with solid working knowledge of Xcode, App Store distribution, and app launch and lifecycle sequencing.
  • Working proficiency in Unity and C#, sufficient to build and maintain a plug-in consumed by third-party developers.
  • Prior experience in developer relations, partner engineering, technical support, or an SDK-integration-facing role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to turn an evolving API into clear, actionable developer guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and triage a high volume of concurrent partner requests without losing quality of support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with Client Arcade, App Store Connect, or subscription and entitlement APIs such as StoreKit.
  • Experience building SDKs, plug-ins, or integration tooling consumed by external developers.
  • Familiarity with game engines beyond Unity, including Unreal and custom or proprietary engines; a meaningful share of Arcade titles are not built in Unity.
  • Prior experience working as an Company contractor, or familiarity with our internal engineering tooling.
