Account Executive, South Central (Texas Remote)

COFENSE
United States, Virginia, Leesburg
Sep 09, 2026
Description

You'll own the South Central Texas territory selling Cofense's phishing detection and response platform: PhishMe, Triage, Vision, Intelligence, and Managed PDR. You'll self-source the majority of your own pipeline, run full-cycle deals from first meeting to close, and work alongside our channel partners in the region. This is the seat for a top-performing former SDR or BDR who has outgrown handing off meetings and wants to run the deal.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Build and own a territory plan, including named account targets and partner coverage
  • Self-source pipeline through outbound, social, events, and partner relationships. We expect a real majority of your pipeline to be self-generated
  • Run discovery, coordinate technical evaluations with sales engineering, and close deals in the five-to-low-six-figure range
  • Build a public presence in the security buyer community: consistent LinkedIn presence, engagement with CISO and security awareness communities, showing up where practitioners are
  • Work with regional partners (Optiv, GuidePoint, and others) to source and co-sell
  • Keep Salesforce clean. Our stage gates are evidence-based, not optimistic. Every deal in pipeline has documented next steps, an identified economic buyer, and a real close date

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • 1 to 2 years of account executive experience along with 18 months as a top-quartile SDR or BDR at a B2B tech or SaaS company
  • Documented outbound results. Come ready to talk about meetings booked, pipeline sourced, and how much of it closed
  • Demonstrated ability to build an audience. An active LinkedIn presence, a newsletter, a community, a podcast, or anything else showing you can create demand rather than just work a list
  • Genuinely tech savvy. You adopt new tools fast, you can hold your own in a conversation about email security and the threat landscape, and you can run your own demo environment
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the Mid-Atlantic, with existing regional network a plus

First 12 months

  • 90 days: territory plan approved, product certified, first self-sourced pipeline in
  • 6 months: consistent pipeline generation at coverage target, first closed-won deal
  • 12 months: at or above quota, on track for a larger territory or enterprise segment

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Cybersecurity or infrastructure software experience
  • Experience selling with or through channel partners
  • Prior exposure to security awareness training or email security buyers
