About the Job

The Recreational Sports Outdoor Program First Aid/CPR Instructor will administer and provide proper certifications for RSOP student staff, and safety officers including, but not limited to, American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED certifications, Lifeguarding certifications, and Water Safety Instructor certifications. This position supports the mission and activities of UMD RSOP through whole-unit, campus, and community involvement. To meet the demands and expectations of this position, work hours may vary from week to week and season to season.

This is a temporary position for up to 67 days per calendar year.

  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
  • American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor
About the Department

Recreational Sports Outdoor Program provides recreational, fitness, sport, and outdoor programming to the UMD and Northern Minnesota community. Over 90% of UMD students and over 700 employees participate in RSOP offerings.

RSOP consists of 13 professional staff and over 200 student employees providing opportunities through Intramurals, Sport Clubs, Fitness, Aquatics, Climbing, Paddling, Outdoor Trips and Activities, Equipment Rental and much more. RSOP is an integral part of the student experience, and a primary contributor to the health and wellness of the UMD community.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.10 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.

Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications. Learn more about retirement plans.
