Job Summary

G&G is seeking a Postdoctoral Investigator in advanced controlled-source seismic imaging. This is a one year appointment with possible extension based on funding and performance.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be supervised by Dr. Juan Pablo Canales. The successful candidate will be offered a 12-month position with the expectation for renewal for additional 12 months based on performance. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence and a strong background in one or more of the following fields:
  • Seismic imaging using advanced controlled-source techniques including, but not limited to, travel-time tomography, full-waveform inversion and reverse-time migration.
  • Processing and Interpretation of 2-D / 3-D seismic reflection data and multi-component wide-angle ocean bottom seismic data.
  • Geophysical characterization of magmatic/hydrothermal processes at mid-ocean ridges.
  • Geophysical characterization of processes and structures at subduction zone accretionary margins, including but not limited to tectonic deformation, geological hazards, and sub-seafloor methane hydrates

Salary Range: $68,381-$75,498

The salary range provided for this position reflects the expected minimum and maximum base pay for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity and market conditions. In addition to base salary, eligible employees also receive a comprehensive benefits package
