Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor of Pharmacy - Brooklyn.
In this role, the successful candidate Assists Director of Pharmacy, Associate Director of Pharmacy with daily functioning/operations of the Pharmacy.
Job Responsibilities:
Assists with daily management of all pharmacy areas;
Responsible for the safe handling of pharmaceutical waste. Knowledgeable in the storage, dispensing and safe disposal of the medication deemed hazardous.
Assists with Joint Commission readiness
Assists with oversight (includes report analysis) of controlled substance dispensing area, IV, chemo dispensing areas;
Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards (ie. USP 797)
Automated dispensing cabinet involvement and trouble shooting.
Supports management of all emergency equipment such as crash cart trays, and other aspects of standardization and maintaining guideline compliance.
Oversight for all workflow activities and operational efficiencies for the assigned shift
Scheduling of all Pharmacists and/or pharmacy technicians
Acts as a liaison for Pharmacy and Nursing Care Units;
Responsible for conducting unit reviews (medication inspections); and tabulating collective departmental data
Participates in pharmacy student assignments; as required
Prepares reports for Director or Assistant Director of Pharmacy;

Minimum Qualifications:
- To qualify you must have a BS, from an accredited school of pharmacy, PharmD preferred.
- 2+ years relevant hospital management experience.
- Strong customer service and communications skills.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
Required Licenses: Pharmacist License-NYS
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
