Your Role

As a Senior Designer within Gensler's Tampa office, you will collaborate with our design team to deliver unparalleled architectural projects. You will leverage your industry experience and technical acumen to perform design and technical execution of Core & Shell and Base Building projects from concept through build. You will bring together design excellence, technical rigor, and strategic thinking to deliver architecture that is both deeply functional and experientially rich. You will be successful because you already know how to translate an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. What You Will Do

  • Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, constructiondocumentsand production
  • Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatoryagenciesand other vendors to meet overall project objectives
  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings
  • Utilize hand rendering techniques to communicate design concepts
  • Guide skill development of junior designers
  • Contribute to and reinforce the "team effort" method of producing design projects
  • Take responsibility for implementing approved briefing approach
  • Prepare the design analysis and research
  • Oversee the design development package for production
  • Work with Technical coordinator and technical team to ensure design intent is accurately interpreted in documents
  • With Design Manager, liaise as necessary with client on issues of design
  • Participates inselectionof FF&E color palettes & material presentations, and generate specifications

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's orMaster's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • 10+ years of related project experience at commercial interior design or architecture firm
  • Proficiency in Revit required
  • Proficiency in modeling using 2D/3D software, such as CAD, Enscape, 3ds MAX, Sketch-up and/or Rhino utilizing V-Ray a plus
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or SketchUp
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices required; Portfolios should include at least 1 project with this particular focus, and candidates should be prepared to talk to this in their interview,especiallybuilt projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL BuildingStandard ,Fitwell and /or Net Zero Building certification
  • Knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and building codes
  • State licensure and LEED accreditation a plus
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software, including Grasshopper, a plus
  • Clear verbal communication abilities and are detail oriented
  • Possess a visual communication style and are able to think and visualize in three-dimensions
