Job Summary:
The Marketing Manager for L'Oreal Professionnel Hair Care and Styling is responsible for executing the strategic development and omnichannel activation of our key consumer retail channels (Amazon and Sephora). This role owns the day-to-day execution of US marketing programs to drive growth, market share, and brand equity across our hair care and styling portfolios.
This role requires a highly entrepreneurial, out-of-the-box thinker who can challenge status-quo marketing and aggressively accelerate growth across local consumer touchpoints. The Senior Manager will work closely with specialized Media and Brand Engagement teams to design and execute digitally disruptive, culturally relevant campaigns, while skillfully navigating the product claims and artwork process between Global DMI and local US teams to ensure messaging is both competitive and compliant.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Omni-Channel Strategy & Retail Execution

  • Retail Channel Growth: Architect and execute the strategic marketing roadmap to accelerate L'Oreal Professionnel's hair care and styling business across key consumer channels, specifically focusing on Amazon and Sephora.
  • Sephora Partnership: Lead all marketing aspects of the brand's relationship with Sephora, including go-to-market strategies, Beauty Barrage education, sampling, e-commerce needs, new product launches, and exclusive kit development.
  • Amazon Optimization: Lead all marketing aspects of the relationship with Amazon, including content management, user experience optimization, algorithm growth drivers, and management of tentpole events (e.g., Amazon Prime Day, Cyber Week).
  • Test & Learn: Identify innovative opportunities to test and learn new approaches tailored to the unique goals and needs of individual retailers (in-store and online).

2. Modern Media & Brand Engagement

  • Media & Engagement Partnership: Collaborate closely with internal Media and Brand Engagement teams to co-develop and execute high-impact storytelling, PR, influencer advocacy, and social-first campaigns.
  • Disruptive Storytelling: Translate product initiatives into engaging, consumer-first brand stories for best-in-class in-store moments and online presence, driving deep consumer love and engagement.

3. Claims, Legal & Global Collaboration

  • Claims & Artwork Navigation: Oversee the product claims and packaging artwork approval processes for the US market, acting as a liaison between Global DMI and local US Legal, Regulatory, and Claims teams.
  • Competitive Compliance: Advocate for impactful, competitive local messaging while strictly respecting and mitigating US legal risks.
  • Global DMI Alignment: Partner with Global brand teams to ensure upcoming innovations are successfully localized and optimized for the US consumer market.

4. Financial Optimization & Operational Excellence

  • Budget & P&L Management: Manage the hair care consumer marketing budget and promotional investments with a strict focus on maximizing ROI.
  • Demand Planning & Forecasting: Partner with Demand Planning to monitor inventory targets, build accurate sales forecasts, and adjust to rapid local consumer channel growth.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in Operational Marketing, Trade Marketing, e-Retail, or Brand Management (beauty or CPG industry preferred).
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: An out-of-the-box thinker with a growth mindset, comfortable taking calculated risks and thriving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Digital & e-Commerce Fluency: Strong understanding of the digital beauty landscape, e-commerce growth drivers, and retail algorithm optimization.
  • Claims & Cross-Functional Diplomacy: Ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder processes (such as legal, claims, and global alignment) with strong attention to detail.
  • Communication & Project Management: Superior communication and presentation skills, highly organized, and proven ability to multi-task and execute within tight timeframes.

What's In It For You:

  • Salary Range: $114,800-$163,600 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
  • Competitive Benefit Package: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, 401(K), and Pension Plan benefits.
  • Hybrid Work Policy: 3 days in office at our state-of-the-art office at 10 Hudson Yards, NY, and 2 days work from home.
  • Flexible Time Off: Paid company holidays, vacation days, Vacation Buy Program, volunteer time, Summer Fridays, and more.
