A Day in the Life

The AVP, Head of Global Digital & Media Strategy directs and holds ultimate global accountability for Color WOW's end-to-end digital ecosystem, steering full-funnel media strategy, unified analytics, search optimization, lifecycle CRM, e-commerce content, and cutting-edge digital services innovation. Acting at the intersection of brand vision, digital transformation, and multi-market commercial execution, this executive leader partners cross-functionally across DMI, CDMO, and international zone leadership to build brand equity, accelerate consumer acquisition, maximize customer lifetime value, and drive sustainable global business growth.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, Digital Media, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Years of Experience: 10-12+ years of progressive leadership experience in digital marketing, full-funnel media strategy, e-commerce, or CDMO roles, preferably within beauty, luxury, or prestige consumer goods.
  • Job Specific Experience/Skills:
    • Proven track record of directing, scaling, and governing a comprehensive global digital ecosystem (Paid/Owned/Earned Media, Performance Analytics, Lifecycle CRM, B2B/B2C E-Commerce).
    • In-depth expertise in Retail Media networks, digital shelf optimization, affiliate marketing, brand seeding, and community management platforms.
    • Demonstrated mastery of Global Engine Optimization (GEO) / SEO strategies, search content architecture, and multi-market master asset syndication (including US English-to-Spanish localization).
    • High-level executive leadership managing top-tier global agency partners, MarTech/AdTech vendors, and matrixed international market teams.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with enterprise digital analytics suites, media buying/ad platforms, CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), e-commerce platforms, and MS Office Suite.
  • Physical Requirements: Physical in-office presence required (up to 2 days per week required in the Color Wow Office in Wilton, CT; remaining time aligned with company hybrid policy); standard executive office activities (sitting, standing, computer work).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's / MBA or advanced degree in relevant field.
  • Experience integrating emerging Beauty Tech / Consumer AI solutions (e.g., AI hair diagnosis, virtual try-on tools, conversational AI companions).

Responsibilities

  • Digital Ecosystem Governance: Direct and hold ultimate global accountability for Color WOW's digital footprint across all core pillars: Full-Funnel Media & Content Formats, Analytics & Insights (Paid/Owned/Earned), E-Commerce B2B & B2C (Content & Activations), GEO Search Strategy, DDX Lifecycle CRM (Triggers & Journeys), and Digital Services.
  • Media Strategy & Alignment: Coordinate the overarching global media strategy with Marketing and Content leads to ensure fit-for-format asset development across all funnel stages; establish divisional Rules of Engagement (ROE) and provide strategic steering for Retail Media investments tied directly to designated Hero SKUs.
  • Analytics & Insights (A&I) Leadership: Oversee the global A&I strategy, including unified multi-touchpoint digital analytics, brand seeding, creator affiliate programs (closely integrated with E-Commerce), and community management technologies.
  • GEO & Global Search Strategy: Define strategic global search territories in close partnership with Marketing; lead English master search content creation, manage specialized agency partners, and syndicate master assets to regional markets for localization (e.g., US English-to-Spanish adaptation).
  • Lifecycle CRM (DDX): Direct global CRM architecture and retention strategy, designing automated consumer lifecycle triggers and personalized multi-channel journeys across both direct consumer (B2C) and salon professional (B2B) touchpoints.
  • Digital Services & Beauty Tech Innovation: Serve as the primary DMI liaison to the division's "Digital Services Factory" to pilot, commercialize, and scale next-generation consumer-facing technologies (AI hair diagnosis, virtual try-ons, conversational AI companions).
  • People & Operational Leadership: Lead, develop, and mentor direct team members while maintaining a close operational partnership with the Head of E-Commerce (Primary Deputy) and cross-functional DMI leaders.

Key Challenges, Issues and Complexity

  • Harmonizing Full-Funnel Performance & Long-Term Brand Equity: Balancing aggressive direct-to-consumer e-commerce goals and retail media ROI with premium brand equity across international markets with varying digital maturity levels.
  • Multi-Market Master Governance & Localization: Architecting global digital toolkits, search territories, and content frameworks that can be efficiently localized, translated, and executed across complex matrixed zone and country teams.
  • Pioneering Beauty Tech Integration: Partnering with central innovation hubs to pilot and scale complex AI-driven digital services (diagnostics, virtual tools) that drive measurable consumer engagement and commercial impact.

    • External: Global Media & Creative Agencies, Search/SEO Agencies, Retail Media & AdTech Partners (Amazon, Ulta, Sephora, Google, Meta, TikTok), Tech Vendors.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Multi-market steering committees, executive briefings, strategic playbooks, KPI dashboards, and recurring cross-functional forums (verbal, written, visual).
