Description

Responsibilities:



  • Conduct on-camera pre-race and post-race interviews with the racing participants
  • Create and develop feature stories on Delaware racing participants
  • Analyze feature races on-camera for the wagering public on a daily basis
  • Facilitate media presence at racing events with the Director of Race and Sports
  • Proficient with USTA racing software programs such as ETrack and Pathway.
  • Take entries on horses declaring in to race
  • Verify eligibility of horses with respect to the event entered
  • Assist with the draw of the races and in proofing the results of the draw
  • Create the "morning line odds" for each racecard
  • Handle calls and inquiries from horsemen regarding the draw, condition sheets, and other race office matters as they arise
  • Assist in proofing the condition sheet for accuracy
  • Presence during racing hours to field questions from horsemen regarding racing matters as they arise
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Work safely, following all established safety rules and regulations
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors and guests
  • Follow all relevant policies and procedure
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Work Environment:



  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and nights as schedule

Starting Compensation:



  • $31.25/hr

Qualifications
Education
High School (required)
Experience
Official Licenses as required by the USTA (United States Trotting Association) and the DHRC (Delaware Harness Racing Commission) (required)
Basic typing and computer skills (internet) required (required)
Must be able to work weekends, holidays and nights as needed (required)
