Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Job Description/Performance Evaluation Job Title: Hematology Supervisor Job Code: H1864 Reports to: Medical Director/Administrative Director Department Name: Laboratory Hematology Dept/CC#: 4001278 Unit Name (if applicable): Approval Date: Section II: Summary of Job Function ' Under the general direction of the Department Chair and Administrative Director, Supervises, plans, coordinates, delegates responsibility and participates in ensuring the smooth and efficient daily operation of the Hematology Department, Performs additional tasks as requested by the Chair or designee, Creates a positive work environment that encourages team effort and cooperation among staff to complete work assignments, Must be data driven with excellent undertanding of the financial needs of the Department, ' Section III: Job Qualifications Education/Training/Certification/Licensure: Bachelor of Science or Medical Technology degree, ASCP or NCA certification preferred, Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Medical Technologist, Must meet the requirements for qualification of Laboratory Supervisor in the of State of New Jersey and the CAP accreditation guidelines, Must work weekends and holidays as a General Supervisor as needed, Special Equipment/Skills: Excellent written and oral communication, computer and organizational skills required, Equipment and instruments used include and not limited to: Microscopes, centrifuges, Hematology/Coagulation instruments and computers, Specialized knowledge in Hematology/Coagulation with ability to work in high volume and labor intensive Department, Assures appropriate reporting of activities of the Department to the Administrative Director, Assist the Pathologists in the educational process of Medical Students and Technologists, RWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer | |
