Summary:

The Medical Materiel Specialist II shall include but are not limited to, inventory, cargo marshaling, hazardous/controlled item management, acquisitions, data entry, cold chain management, coordinating logistics activities with other base organizations, units, and government agencies, ensuring the overall readiness and availability of unit ECMM to include general medical materiel management and warehouse activities.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Duties, in addition to those of an MMS 1, shall include coordinating logistics activities with other base organizations, units, and government agencies, ensuring the overall readiness and availability of assigned ECMM to include general medical materiel management and warehouse activities.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Track and document the usage of medical materials
  • Assist in the procurement of medical supplies and equipment
  • Coordinate logistics activities with base organizations, units, and government agencies.
  • Ensure overall readiness and availability of unit ECMM (Expeditionary Contingency Medical Materiel), including general medical materiel management and warehouse activities
  • Shall be required to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Collaborate with others, train, and partner with military members, and work independently with little to no management
  • At some staffed sites or during travel missions, supervision or leading other contract staff may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 6 years of medical logistics field experience with four years of specialized medical materiel management experience.
  • Specialized experience shall include general supply activities, ordering, receiving, customer support, inventory management, assemblage management, warehousing, and operation of various materials handling equipment.
  • The specialized experience shall be in a healthcare or healthcare support environment or setting.
  • Must have experience in using and running transactions in the MMIS
  • Must be able to pass client background screening for security clearance
  • 25% Travel may be required for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Nationally recognized certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management preferred but not required
