Job Summary

Finance Interns will gain hands-on experience supporting Richard's financial operations, reporting, analysis, and project accounting activities. Working alongside members of the Finance and Accounting team, the intern will develop an understanding of both corporate finance and the unique financial considerations of the construction industry. The role will provide exposure to financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, project accounting, transaction processing, reconciliations, and financial analysis. This internship is ideal for a student interested in understanding how financial information is used to evaluate performance, manage projects, and support strategic business decisions.

Opportunities

  • Assist with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
  • Help prepare recurring financial and management reports.
  • Assist with project-level financial reporting and cost analysis.

  • Assist with account and financial reconciliations.

  • Assist with maintaining financial schedules, reports, and supporting documentation.

  • Help develop or improve financial models, spreadsheets, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with Operations and project teams to better understand project financial performance.
  • Gain exposure to financial controls, accounting procedures, and business processes.
  • Participate in Finance team meetings, special projects, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and analyze financial information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, accounting systems, data visualization, or business intelligence tools is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Interest in construction finance, project accounting, corporate finance, or financial analysis.
  • Desire to develop a strong understanding of how financial performance supports business decision-making.
