Overview

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering to join our New Castle, DE team. This role will provide leadership of the team responsible for the development, quality, and continuous improvement of the manufacturing systems, processes and methods for delivering value to our customers.



Responsibilities

    Lead and manage a team of Manufacturing Engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, productivity and safety.
  • Oversee development and optimization of manufacturing processes including assembly, testing, tools, and failure analysis while ensuring compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and ISO9001 standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement through design for manufacturing improvements, visual standard work, costreduction initiatives, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen activities.
  • Ensure 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Health and Safety, Quality)
  • Lead cross-departmental initiatives by collaborating with finance, operations, supply chain, and other stakeholders to identify inefficiencies, streamline processes, and align organizational efforts towards achieving financial recovery and operational excellence.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities through participation in cross functional business core teams to align and ensure successful internal manufacturing readiness.
  • Evaluate and approve engineering requests, determining feasibility, make/buy status, and workload priorities
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets; oversee justification, selection, and acquisition of capital equipment to support operational efficiency.
  • Lead team to research and develop techniques to improve product quality and production efficiencies and assist in implementing process improvement initiatives (Six Sigma /Lean /TPM) in partnership with business leaders
  • Mentor and coach engineers to collaborate effectively with design, quality, maintenance, and production teams


Qualifications

  • BA or BS Degree in Engineering or similar discipline with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing of electro-mechanical equipment of which 5+ years must include managerial responsibilities
  • Analytical, Problem-Solving Skills & Digital literacy: Strong analytical capabilities to assess project performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop effective strategies that enhance operational efficiency and productivity. Familiarity with digital tools enhances continuous improvement.
  • Budget planning experience, organizational and planning skills, communication skills and ability to adapt to work environment and customer needs
  • Proven track record in communication, leadership, business analysis, process development, administration, and change management.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including mechanical and electrical assembly, testing, and inspection
  • Experience with team building, project oversight, and developing engineering KPIs procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, expectations and accountabilities
  • SAP experience preferred, but experience in any ERP system acceptable
  • Ability to work onsite in New Castle Delaware
