Open Until Filled.



$21.08 to $23.19 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs skilled technical work assisting members of the general public through the public works process, including Right-of-Way/Easement permitting and the development review process.



REQUIREMENTS: Two (2) years [60 semester or 90 quarter hours] of college level coursework in Public Administration, Business Administration, Construction, or a closely related field PLUS three (3) years of experience in direct customer contact or customer service, which included two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in a planning and development or public works related field; OR five (5) years of experience in direct customer contact or customer service, which included four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a planning and development or public works environment. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Experience with the Brevard County Code of Ordinances, and rules, regulations, and practices pertaining to Public Works and Planning & Development is preferred. Experience working with Accela is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within twenty-four (24) months of employment, successful completion of the Brevard County Employee Development Program Phase I and Phase II, and receive a passing score on each phase examination. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
