Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD), a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Associate Intern to join our team for Summer 2027.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting project execution activities across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects in the natural gas and petrochemical industries. You will work alongside project managers and cross-functional project teams to support project coordination, documentation, communication, and execution activities while gaining exposure to all phases of project delivery.

This role is located in Katy, TX. This role is not eligible for VISA sponsorship.

Our Team

For over 45 years, OPD has provided turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction services for some of the largest natural gas and gas liquids processing facilities in the United States. Our capabilities have expanded to include full custom design/build solutions for large-scale facilities.

You will be part of a collaborative, cross-functional engineering team working across disciplines including Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, and Electrical. Our team is focused on delivering high-quality projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

What You Will Do

  • Support project teams with project coordination and execution activities across multiple EPC projects
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining project documentation, reports, meeting notes, and action items
  • Participate in project team meetings and document key discussions, deliverables, and follow-up activities
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to support project objectives
  • Assist with developing project status updates, presentations, and reporting materials
  • Track project-related information and support project data management efforts
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project execution and team effectiveness
  • Build knowledge of project management principles and EPC project delivery processes

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
  • Eligible for full-time employment on or before Summer 2028
  • Eligible to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Exposure to engineering, construction, manufacturing, or industrial operations environments
  • Experience analyzing data, tracking project progress, or supporting reporting activities
  • Experience with innovation and generative AI software such as Copilot or Power BI
  • Prior internship or professional experience, in a related or other field
